Paragon Bank employees have raised over £11,500 in sponsorship and donations after taking part in the Mortgage Sleep Out.
The 38-strong team from the specialist bank’s Solihull and Southampton offices took part in the event last Friday (30th November), which was supporting charity partner End Youth Homelessness.
The Paragon sleep out was one of a number of mortgage industry events which took place across the UK.
Proceeds from the Paragon sleep out will go to St Basils , a local charity affiliated with End Youth Homelessness.
Solihull-based St Basils helps young people aged 16-25 across Birmingham and the West Midlands by offering a range of preventative, accommodation, support and engagement services to young people in need.
Paragon raised over £5,500 through sponsorship, cake and samosa sales before the bank’s senior management team pledged to double the team’s fundraising efforts with a company donation.
“The Paragon team [was] quick to get on board with this national mortgage industry event,” said Mike Potter, mortgage lending director at Paragon.
“Homelessness can strike at any time and we all want to help.
“Rob Jupp and the team at Brightstar deserve full credit for galvanising the industry to work together on an inspirational and collaborative project to raise awareness and vital funds that will literally change young lives for the better.”
