Unity Trust Bank registers 34% rise in profits

Unity Trust Bank increased profits by 34% in 2019.

The specialist commercial bank recorded lending growth of 30% for the second consecutive year, while over £243m of loans were approved in the 12-month period.

Unity Trust Bank enabled customers to build or refurbish 1,188 buildings or bed spaces, house 437 people and create 672 new jobs.

Margaret Willis, CEO at Unity Trust Bank (pictured above), said: “These results demonstrate our continued resilience despite the current headwinds. 

“We are committed to providing our customers with support and advice through [the Covid-19] disruption and remain open for business.”

According to Margaret, the bank has made changes to its working patterns that are consistent with government policy.

“We are continuing to invest in the bank so that we can keep growing safely and responsibly, and ensure that our purpose to support organisations which are making a positive societal impact is unchanged.”
