Andreea Dulgheru | 15:04 Thursday 2nd January 2020

Redwood Bank has offered tips to customers regarding cyber security and avoiding online scams.

Customers who undertake online banking and transactions are encouraged to follow the advice.

Dave Wickham, head of IT at Redwood Bank (pictured above), states that:

  • users must choose a strong password which is different from other passwords and not personally identifiable
  • they should constantly install software updates for digital banking apps and anti-virus software
  • where available, customers should use two-factor authentication (2FA)/multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • users must avoid clicking suspicious links and ensure they access accounts from a secure network wherever possible
