CYBG aims to spur SME growth with new academic programme

Theo Osborn | 12:39 Tuesday 24th September 2019

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank (CYBG) has set out to assist its SME customers to grow and prosper with the launch of a new academic programme.

The Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank Greenhouse Programme will see postgraduate business students provide ideas and strategies to companies across a range of sectors.

Under the programme, businesses will state a challenge they would like to overcome and the students will work with them to identify how to overcome these obstacles and seize opportunities.

The programme’s pilot event was held in 2018 at the University of Stirling and has been expanded to Sheffield Hallam University, the University of Strathclyde Business School and Heriot-Watt University.

The University of Leeds and Aston University will host the programme in early 2020.

It is believed that the initiative will be mutually beneficial for both students and businesses, with students gaining valuable skills and customers leveraging their insights to improve their business models.
