Tandem has announced that it is increasing rates on its fixed-term savings accounts.

The digital bank will offer 2% interest, up from 1.85%, for its one-year fixed savings account in which a £1,000 minimum deposit must be made.

Its two-year fixed saver account – which also requires a £1,000 initial deposit – will offer 2.25% interest after two years, an increase on the 2.1% previously offered.

Meanwhile, an interest rate of 2.4% will be earned on its three-year fixed savings account, up from 2.25%.

Ricky Knox, CEO at Tandem (pictured above), said: “I’m excited to be boosting the rates on our fixed-term savings accounts.

“More and more people are realising that money sitting in their current account is just wasting away.

“It’s never too late to start saving, whether you're an experienced saver or starting out and are looking to ramp up your savings efforts.”
