Coventry Building Society has announced its intention to appoint Iraj Amiri as a non-executive director, subject to regulatory approval.
Iraj is a chartered accountant with extensive experience of senior management and board roles in internal audit, risk management and corporate governance.
He worked as a partner at Deloitte LLP, where he became head of the internal audit group and enterprise risk management group.
He also spent time as global head of internal audit with Schroders PLC on a secondment basis.
Iraj is currently a member of the regulatory decisions committee at the FCA, non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee at the Development Bank of Wales PLC, chair of the audit committee of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and a trustee of National Employment Savings Trust.
