Digital bank launches financial workshops

Alex Lynn | 10:41 Thursday 18th May 2017

Digital bank iam has announced the launch of free learning and therapy-based financial workshops across the UK.

The scheme, which starts this summer, includes online interactive workshops designed to support consumers in breaking down financial jargon, understanding their spending behaviour and identifying clear and achievable goals.

As part of the offering, iam bank – which launches in September – will also hold face-to-face workshops where users can speak to a qualified therapist.

Everyone who attends a workshop will be able to sign-up for an exclusive iam account.

Lee Travers, CEO of iam, said: "I have seen too many people torn down by financial pressures; their minds ruined, often feeling helpless and lost and not knowing where to turn to.

"We are building iam so that members no longer need to feel alone.

“We will not penalise our members with negative fees or overdraft charges, as this is neither productive or member-focused.

“Instead, our machine-learning technology will keep our members one step ahead, pre-empting negative scenarios so that we can work together to avoid them."
