World renowned pop star, William has joined Atom Bank as a strategic board advisor.
The musician, who is also entrepreneur, philanthropist, and consumer technology investor will provide Atom bank with insight on culture, philanthropy and technology in his new role.
Atom Bank which launched its app in 2016, also recently launched a residential mortgage offering through selected independent advisers.
Will.i.am said: “Our lives are faster than ever before, but the banking industry hasn't kept up.
“The scale of Atom's ambition to help people understand and manage their money better, and it's clever use of technology to give people an entire bank on their phones is awesome.
“I'm looking forward to working with Atom to achieve success in everything we will do together.”
Will.i.am, born William Adams, is known for his work with The Black Eyed Peas and has a number of songs with prominent music industry members such as Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Britney Spears and David Guetta as well as being a coach on reality TV show “The Voice” UK.
Will.i.am is a founding shareholder in Beats Electronics, the creators of Beats by Dre headphones and launched i.am+ foto.sosho camera accessory for iPhone4/4s and iPhone 5.
In 2011, he was appointed Director of creative innovation at computer chip giant Intel.
