The African Development Bank Group has announced five new appointments to its leadership team.
Dr Victor B Oladokun has been appointed as the director for communication and external relations with effect from 1st September.
Dr Oladokun, a UK citizen, has joined the bank from 3D Global Consult – a media and communications consulting firm in Nigeria – where he has been the chief executive officer since 2012.
Dr Akinwumi A Adesina, the president of the African Development Bank Group, said: “Victor Oladokun brings to the bank strong leadership skills and international reputation as a globally respected media executive.”
Dr Abdu Mukhtar has been recruited by the bank as the director for industrial and trade development with effect from 28th September.
Dr Mukhtar is a US citizen and was previously the group chief strategy officer at the Dangote Group of Industries in Nigeria, a role he had held since 2014.
Dr Adesina added: “Abdu Mukhtar is a world-class and consummate professional, with strong entrepreneurial skills and a well demonstrated track record of delivering outstanding results in developing trade and industrialisation in Africa.”
The bank has also announced the appointment of Trevor de Kock as the director of financial management, a role which took effect last month.
Trevor is a South African national and has more than 25 years of experience in banking, development finance, and treasury and risk management.
He has worked at the bank since 1999 and served in a variety of roles, including division manager in the treasury department and division manager for the financial management department.
Dr Adesina said: “Trevor has been a well-tested hand at the bank, with extensive experience in treasury, risk and financial management.”
Omobola Hollist, a Nigerian national, has become the bank's new director of the financial control department.
She has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector and was previously the manager of disbursements (appointed March 2007).
“She brings solid knowledge and experience on financial controls, passion, energy and proven thought-leadership to this critical role at the bank,” added Dr Adesina.
The bank has also appointed Jacques Edjangue as the director of language services department, with effect from 1st September.
Jacques, a Cameroonian national, was previously the manager for the French translation division (appointed 2011) and prior to that was a senior translator at the bank (appointed 2002).
Dr Adesina added: “I am delighted to appoint an individual with broad and deep experience in the critical areas of the department, particularly as a translator, interpreter and reviser.”
