Fidor Bank to leave UK market

Theo Osborn | 11:55 Thursday 4th July 2019

Fidor Bank has announced that it will be leaving the UK due to “uncertainties surrounding the UK market”.

The bank has decided to withdraw its product and service offering in the UK from 15th September 2019.

Fidor — which had been in the UK market for four years — stated that from 1st July, UK customers would no longer be able to open a new account with the bank.

Its standard banking functionalities will no longer be available from 15th September, but customers will still be able to access their banking page with a limited view-only function until 30th September.

Total access to banking pages will not be possible from 30th September.

Fidor has urged customers to download all bank statements, tax certificates and other relevant documents which might be needed for future reference, by this date.
