German fintech company builder finleap has acquired SME business banking provider Penta.
Penta offers business banking for digital companies, with its product currently being used by over 5,500 customers across Germany.
It is partnered with solarisBank, which enables its business in Germany through the latter’s banking licence.
Over the course of 2019, Penta’s services will also be made available in Italy, via Beesy — finleap’s portfolio company based in Milan.
The fintech company claimed that it has extended its “value chain of services” through this latest addition and has already built 16 portfolio companies, including a BaFin (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority) licensed bank, a BaFin licensed insurance company and two digital finance platforms.
