Megan Caywood (pictured above) has confirmed that she is to leave her role as chief platform officer at Starling Bank to join Barclays.

She will join Barclays as its head of consumer strategy in early 2019.

On LinkedIn, Megan stated: “I’m so proud of all we’ve accomplished at Starling Bank but I’m now excited to join Barclays in the new year.”

Via Twitter, Anne Boden, CEO at Starling Bank, said: “Flattered that Barclays [has] chosen Starling Bank’s Megan to be head of consumer strategy.

“Really thrilled that senior women are making it to the very top.”

Meanwhile, Starling on Twitter added: “We’re sorry to see Megan Caywood leave after two action-packed years building our marketplace and promoting Starling.

“We wish her well in her next big banking adventure – the more women in senior roles in finance and tech the better.”

This news comes as Starling recently expanded its executive team with the appointments of Helen Bierton as its head of retail banking and Stuart Doignie as its head of SME banking.
