Revolut raises $66m from European investors

Martin Greenland | 07:27 Wednesday 19th July 2017

Revolut has announced that it has finalised a new round of $66m of investment from European investors.

The investors included Index Ventures, Balderton Capital and Ribbit Capital.

Revolut is expected to use the investment to release a bunch of new features for its business and consumer products and to take the business global — starting with Asia and North America.

The 'banking alternative' aims to improve on its 700,000 customers and believes it is on track to reach one million users by the end of 2017.

Revolut's crowdfunding campaign last year raised £1m, but this year it plans to increase the total to £4m by offering even more customers and investors the chance to own a part of the business.

The campaign will be launched later this month with the first 5,000 Revolut premium members being offered priority access to invest before opening the crowdfund raise to all Revolut users.
