Gatehouse Bank has announced the appointment of Dr Usman Chaudry as its chief risk officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Dr Chaudry – who will be a member of EXCO – has previously held positions as risk director at Tandem and director – global head, policy and risk governance at Standard Chartered Bank.

He has also served in various roles in risk management for KPMG, Barclays Bank and GE Capital International.

In November 2017, Gatehouse Bank made two new appointments as part of its expansion into the residential property finance sector.

Charles Haresnape, CEO at Gatehouse Bank, said: “I am delighted to welcome Usman to Gatehouse, where his experience of risk disciplines adds the final jigsaw piece to our executive team.”

Last year, the specialist bank announced the appointment of Kenny Orpin as a vice-president and Mike Coles as interim chief risk officer.
